Migrating Documents from Business Objects 6.5 to Business Objects 12.x
Open Business Objects 6.5 and log in. On the main screen, click on “File”
and “Open”.
Navigate to the location of your reports.
If all the documents you want to migrate are listed together, click on the first document to migrate. Hold the shift key down and click on the last document to migrate.
If the documents are not all together, click on the first document to migrate and then hold down the CTRL key while click on the other reports to migrate.

Then click on “Open”.
Click on “File”, “Send To”, and “Users”.

The screen below will come up.

Click on “To”. Type your username in the “Users” field and click on “Search”. In this example, Laurie is sending documents to herself.

Your name should show up on the results. Select your name and click on “Add” followed by “OK.”

You will be back at the Send screen. About halfway down, you will see an option to “Add”. Click on that option and a window will come up which shows all the reports you previously selected.

Select the first document in the list, hold down the SHIFT key, and then select the last document in the list. Your documents should all be highlighted in blue, now click “OK”.

All your reports should be on the “Document(s) to Send” list now. Click “OK” at the bottom of the Send window.

Once the reports have been sent, you will receive the following confirmation message.

At that time, email JJ Warren (jjwarren@wsu.edu) letting him know your documents are ready to be migrated.
Once you receive confirmation from JJ Warren that your documents have been successfully migrated, open your web browser and navigate to https://businessobjects.wsu.edu. Make sure “Authentication” is set to “Windows AD”. Log in with your network ID and password.

The home page will appear similar to the following. Click on “My Inbox”.

Click on the first message, hold down the shift key, and the click on the last message. All the message will be highlighted in blue.

Select “Organize” and then “Cut”.

Select “My Favorites” on the left hand side menu.

Select “New” and “Folder”. Type in a folder name which is appropriate for the reports you are migrating and makes sense to you.

After clicking “OK”, the folder will appear on the right hand side of your screen.

Double click on the folder to open it.

Select “Organize” and “Paste”.

Your reports will show up in the pane on your right.

Congratulations, the reports are now migrated to Business Objects 12.x.
