Access Procedures
The following steps need to be completed before activation of the Student Data Warehouse is complete.
- Purchase a license for the end-user query and reporting tools (Business Objects).Request the confidential price sheet of Business Objects by clicking here. The price sheet contains various Business Objects products with the negotiated discount for WSU. Send an IRI indicating the products you wish to purchase to Diana Keithley in Information Technology (1222).
- Obtain a Network ID, if you don't already have one.
- Complete the FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) training offered by the Registrar's Office. This is the same training required for access to the OARS and SRTS student records systems. FERPA Training expires after 3 years. Beginning August 6, 2007, FERPA training must be taken every three years to be current and eligible for access to student systems. The Registrar's Office will begin enforcing this requirement by asking employees who sign up for Student Data Warehouse access to have a current training record on file. If you have not taken the FERPA Training in more than three years,you can retake it at this website.
- Print and sign the Data Warehouse Access form.
- Have it signed by your Department Chair / Director and Dean / Vice President.
- Forward it to the student records Data Custodian (Registrar’s Office 1035, rotech@lists.wsu.edu, 335-3819) for approval.
- Once you have been approved by the Data Custodian, you will be granted access. You will receive an email with containing your userid, a temporary password, and the installation instructions.
