Data Refresh Schedule
Data is captured from the OARS and SRTS systems, reformatted and loaded into the Student Data Warehouse on a nightly basis. Each night a snapshot for the current term and the next 2 future terms is created. Transcript data is refreshed every weeknight (Monday through Friday) and also on the evenings that final grades are posted.
Notes about Data Extraction
Only data for students that are admitted, enrolled or have withdrawn during the term is extracted. DDP enrollments are included as well as traditional enrollments.- Data that is necessary for historical reporting, is kept as a set or version of data called a "snapshot". For each snapshot, a new snapshot generation id is assigned. This id number is assigned to all snapshot records for that extraction. Examples of this kind of data are: student's major and a section's enrollment count.
- Data that does not need to have historical versions kept is simply replaced during each extraction with the most recent data. Examples of this kind of data are: a student's birth date and an educational institution's name.
