ITS Connect

E-Mail Access

You can connect to your e-mail account automatically using supported desktop client software for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.  In addition your e-mail account can be accessed by various mobile devices, web browsers, or from common IMAP client software.

Web Browser

To connect to your e-mail account using a web browser like Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome or Firefox simply browse to the URL https://connect.wsu.edu for the Outook Web App (OWA).  The OWA website also provides low vision support for customers that need that functionality.

Windows Client

There are two supported clients that allow for you to connect automatically by simply entering your e-mail address and WSU Network ID password:

Connecting to your e-mail account by using Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2007 provides a more comprehensive e-mail messaging experience that allows you to sync e-mail, Calendar, Contacts and other items.  Connecting to your account using IMAP only allows you to sync e-mail.  

Note: Outlook 2003 will no longer be supported by WSU ITS after September 30th, 2011.

Mac Client

There are three supported clients that allow for you to connect automatically by simply entering your e-mail address and WSU Network ID password:

Connecting to your e-mail account by using Outlook for Mac 2011, Mail, iCal and Address Book or Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition provides a more comprehensive e-mail messaging experience that allows you to sync e-mail, Calendar, Contacts and other items.  Connecting using an IMAP client only allows you to sync e-mail.

IMAP Client

ITS supports IMAP clients connected via SSL, but due to the many different IMAP clients and the vast number of potential configurations the support provided by ITS is limited.   

Android

You can connect your Android device to your e-mail account using the following methods:


Connecting to your e-mail account by using ActiveSync on your Android device provides a more comprehensive e-mail messaging experience that allows you to sync e-mail, Calendar, Contacts and protect the data on your device in case it is lost or stolen.  Connecting using an IMAP client only allows you to sync e-mail.

iPhone or iOS

You can connect your Apple iOS device to your e-mail account using the following methods:

Connecting to your e-mail account by using ActiveSync on your iOS device provides a more comprehensive e-mail messaging experience that allows you to sync e-mail, Calendar, Contacts and protect the data on your device in case it is lost or stolen.  Connecting using an IMAP client only allows you to sync e-mail.

Windows Phone 7

You can connect your Windows Phone 7 device to your e-mail account using the following methods:

Blackberry

You can connect your Blackberry device to your e-mail account using the following methods:

Connecting to your e-mail account by using BES on your Blackberry device provides a more comprehensive e-mail messaging experience that allows you to sync e-mail, Calendar, and Contacts.  Connecting using an IMAP client only allows you to sync e-mail.
