Configuring Apple Mail to use Exchange

Apple Mail is a popular email client for Macintosh. It has some features which allow it to be used with an Exchange Server account.

  1. Start up Apple Mail
  2. Click on Mail --> Preferences
  3. Click Accounts button

  4. Click on + button in lower left corner
    Fill in first seven entries as shown:

  5. Click on drop down control for ‘Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)’

  6. Select Add Server
  7. Specify Outgoing Mail Server as ‘smtp.wsu.edu’
  8. Use Server Port 465, set Authention to Password, enter your NID and password.

  10. Fill in Outlook Web Access Server field as ‘connect.wsu.edu’
  11. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab

  12. Click on Use SSL check box on lower part of window.
  13. This should change the Port used to ‘993’
  14. Close the Accounts window.
    You should now be ready to access your Exchange account.
