Optical Scanning - Test Data Collection
This process consists of scanning the forms then sending the data file to your E-mail account. (Only WSU e-mail accounts allowed.) The data file can be copied to your formatted diskette or CDR/W, or USB storage device. The customer can then process their data to fit their own needs. Data collection processing does not require a Test Header unless you want Test scoring and/or the reports file sent to you.
Scanned data
can be converted to the following file formats:
Delimited ASCII (.DLM), uses the 'comma-separated field' format that data can be imported to many database and spreadsheet programs.
Excel (.XLS), We can take the delimited file and export it into an Excel spreadsheet file for you.
Fixed Length Records (.DAT), The document record delimiter (which are the CR/LF characters in the standard format) can be changed to any other character string you specify and data fields can be omitted.
SPSS for Windows (.SPS), Used by the SPSS for Windows statistical analysis program. When you specify this format, ScanTools creates a text file containing commands used by SPSS. The SPSS Importing Guide documents how to run/execute SPSS file.
