Popular P2P File Sharing Applications Removal Instructions

Bearshare
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “BearShare” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. BearShare should now be successfully uninstalled.
BitComet
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “BitComet” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. BitComet should now be successfully uninstalled.
BitTorrent
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “BitTorrent” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. Locate and double click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop. (If the My Computer icon is not on the desktop it can be found in the start menu by clicking the “Start/Windows” button.)
  9. Double click on your hard drive. Typically, it is labeled as “Local Disk (C:)
  10. Open the “Programs Folder.”
  11. Find and Right-click on the “BitTorrent” folder.
  12. A menu will pop up, Left click “delete.”
  13. Click “Yes” when asked if you are sure you want to delete the folder.
  14. Empty the recycle bin to complete the removal process
  15. BitTorrent should now be successfully uninstalled.

*If these steps do not fully remove BitTorrent from your computer, please see a professional for help with removal.*

Blubster
  1. If Blubster is currently running, close the program. If Blubster will not close you can close it by pressing and holding "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" together to launch the “Task Manager”.
  2. Open the Task Manager and click the "Processes" tab. Scroll through to locate and click "blubster.exe." Next, click the "End Process" button to terminate the program.
  3. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  4. Select “Control Panel”.
  5. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  6. Find “Blubster” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  7. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  8. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  9. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  10. Locate and double click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop. (If the My Computer icon is not on the desktop it can be found in the start menu by clicking the “Start/Windows” button.)
  11. Double click on your hard drive. Typically, it is labeled as “Local Disk (C:)
  12. Open the “Programs Folder.”
  13. Find and Right-click on the “Blubster” folder.
  14. A menu will pop up, Left click “delete.”
  15. Click “Yes” when asked if you are sure you want to delete the folder.
  16. Empty the recycle bin to complete the removal process
  17. Blubster should now be successfully uninstalled.
Deluge
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “Deluge” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. Deluge should now be successfully uninstalled.
FrostWire
  1. If Frostwire is currently running, close the program. If Frostwire will not close you can close it by pressing and holding "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" together to launch the “Task Manager”.
  2. Open the Task Manager and click the "Processes" tab. Scroll through to locate and click "frostwire.exe." Next, click the "End Process" button to terminate the program.

  6. Find “Frostwire” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  7. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  8. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  9. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  10. Frostwire should now be successfully uninstalled.
iMesh
  1. If iMesh is currently running, close the program. If iMesh will not close you can close it by pressing and holding "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" together to launch the “Task Manager”.

Shareaza
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “Shareaza” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. Shareaza should now be successfully uninstalled.
SoMud
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “SoMud” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. SoMud should now be successfully uninstalled.
Tixati
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “Tixati” on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. Tixati should now be successfully uninstalled.
Transmission
  1. Click on “Finder” in dock
  2. Click “Go” in top menu bar
  3. Select “Applications
  4. Find “Transmissions
  5. Click and drag Transmissions to “Trash
  6. Empty Trash
  7. Transmissions should now be successfully uninstalled.
uTorrent
  1. Click on the “Start/Windows” icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Control Panel”.
  3. Select “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs/Uninstall a Program.”
  4. Find “uTorrent on the list and single click to highlight it.
  5. Click the button labeled “Remove/Uninstall”.
  6. Once prompted, click “Yes” to remove the program.
  7. Close out the Add/Remove Program and Control Panel windows.
  8. Locate and double click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop. (If the My Computer icon is not on the desktop it can be found in the start menu by clicking the “Start/Windows” button.)
